PRAYER GROUPS
Circle Prayer
Our Circle Prayer group meets every Wednesday from 3:00-4:00pm on Zoom currently. Contact us at office@firstpres-elcajon.org for the Zoom link; we'd love to have you join us.
At Circle Prayer, you’ll find a faithful group of a dozen folks who are always eager to welcome new faces. After a little sharing and laughter, a singing bowl is rung and a Psalm is read to center us. Participants pray aloud or silently for those close to our heart, our church, and our community, as we move into a wider circle of prayer for the whole world. Prayer is God’s gift that enables us to be attentive to the Divine in our lives and beyond. We find that we are both nourished and empowered to act in ways that change the world as we respond to God’s love.
Centering Prayer
A Centering Prayer Group meets on Saturday mornings at 9:00. Meetings are held in Bailey Hall.
Centering prayer offers the gift of silence as one practices a surrendered and receptive openness to God's presence. All are welcome. No experience required! You may learn more about the Contemplative Society centering basics tradition here and the Contemplative Outreach Centering Prayer here.
